FAQ's
How much do you charge for a lesson ?
The most commonly asked question and sometimes the only one. My prices are basically £25 for automatic and £23 for manual with discounts available. Price should not be the sole reason for choosing a particular school. Prices in this area range from £18 to £25 for manual lessons and more for automatic. Recommendations are probably a better guide. If you’ve a relative or friend who’s had a good instructor, use that one. If you are not sure, take one lesson at a time. If you are not happy change your instructor. You are the customer.
How many lessons will I need ?
How long is a piece of string? It depends on the individual. Some pick it up very quickly and pass and have up to 20 hrs tuition. The average driving time to pass the test is around 50 hours. If you are lucky enough to have access to a car for private practice you won't need so many lessons. The most common reason for failing the test is lack of practice and therefore confidence.
What is the Motorway course?
This course is designed for drivers who have just passed the test and want some practical guidance on the motorway and also drivers who have been driving for years but for whatever reason have never ventured on to the motorway. The length of this course is up to the customer. A minimum of 2 hours is recommended and the cost is £25 per hour.
What is the Refresher course ?
This is aimed at drivers whose skills need brushing up. This would include people who passed the test in their teens and did not drive again for several years or people who have lived abroad for a number of years. Normal lesson price applies and again the length of the course is up to the customer.
